Chronology: The Anasazi Culture in the Four Corners area of the Southwest.
When the Navajo discovered these ancient cliff dwellings centuries ago they named the ancient people who built them 'Anasazi', meaning 'The Ancient Ones'.
The Anasazi are the ancestors of the Pueblo People occupying pueblo settlements chiefly in New Mexico and Arizona.
